Season officially abandoned

The 2019-2020 season is now officially over. The Board of Directors of the LFP met yesterday to formally confirm the end of the Conforama Ligue 1 and Domino’s Ligue 2 seasons. The main consequences of that decisions are as follows:

Ligue 1

The Girondins de Bordeaux finish in 12th place, with Paris SG crowned Champions. The two automatic promotion and relegation spots have also been maintained. That means that Toulouse (20) and Amiens (19) are relegated to Ligue 2. Lorient (L2 champions) and Lens will make their return to the top flight next season.

National cup competitions

As yet there is no indication as to whether or not the domestic cup finals will be played. One thing is certain: PSG and Marseille  are qualified for the UEFA Champions League, and Rennes will enter the play-off stages. Read the full LFP statement here
