FC Girondins de Bordeaux can now confirm the permanent transfer of Jonathan Cafu to Al-Hazem Rass. The Brazilian winger has completed his medical and signed a contract with the club. Born 10 July 1991, Jonathan Cafu moved to Bordeaux in the summer of 2017 from Ludogorets (Bulgaria), his first experience of playing in Europe. He was a three-time Bulgarian league winner with Ludogorets, (2016, 2017, 2018) and made a big impact in the UEFA Champions League. After moving to Bordeaux he made 20 appearances in the 2017-2018 season, scoring twice and providing two assists. He then headed out on loan to Red Star Belgrade for the 2018-2019 season. Returning to the club last summer, Jonathan Cafu has been hard at work ever since with Paulo Sousa and his staff. His dedication and professionalism allowed him to win back his place in the team, making four appearances for the Girondins. Jonathan is now set for a new adventure in the Saudi premier league with Al-Hazem. Currently sitting in thirteenth place, the club is one spot and five points above the relegation zone.  Al-Hazem will be counting on the Brailian ace in their battle to stay in the top flight, with 15 games left to play. We wish Jonathan every success in Saudi Arabia!
