In front of a healthy crowd at Stade Saint Germaine, the Girondines were determined to get the better of Dijon this afternoon. Bordeaux started brightly, moving the ball around well in midfield and testing the visitors' defence. Dijon had all 11 players camped out in their own half, apparently hoping that an opportunity to counter-attack would materialise at some point. No luck in the first half, and the scoreboard was stubbornly empty at the break. The Girondines stepped things up a gear in the second half, and were soon rewarded for their efforts. Delphine Chatelin picked up the ball on the left flank and cut inside, playing a crisp one-two with Claire Lavogez to tee herself up on her right foot: her blazing shot lodged itself in the top corner (54’). 1-0 Bordeaux. The Girondines kept piling on the pressure, with Claire Lavogez rattling the crossbar in the 55th minute and substitute Khadija Shaw (on for Ouleymata Sarr) also coming close. Pedro Martinez Losa's side looked to be in incredible physical form, clearly outclassing their opponents with their passing and running even in the final minutes of the game. In the 85th minute, Bussaglia floated a cross in for a header which forced a spectacular diving save from Romane Bruneau. Despite this late scare, Bordeaux were in control throughout and wrapped up the afternoon with another three points, securing their place in the leading pack of D1.
