Corps de texte
In front of a sold-out home crowd, Bordeaux had no intention of sitting back and letting Lyon unleash their attacking power. The Girondines were determined to keep hold of the ball and build from the back. A high-risk strategy, but one which proved effective since the visitors didn't get a sight of goal until the 19th minute when Ana Hegerberg headed wide. The two teams were cancelling each other out in the middle, with the Girondines keeping OL on a tight leash but struggling to create much up front. Griedge Mbock took a knock and had to be replaced by Kadeisha Buchanan (38'). Romane Bruneau made her first save of the afternoon just before the break (45+2'). Lyon came out swinging in the second half, with Nikita Parris testing Bruneau from close range (48'), followed by another header from Ana Hegerberg (53'). Tempers began to fray under the pressure, and both Buchanan and Claire Lavogez picked up yellow cards (58', 60'). Pedro Martinez Losa decided to shake things up a little, bringing on Ouleymata Sarr for Khadija Shaw and Maëlle Garbino for Claire Lavogez. Bordeaux kept things tight at the back, but up the other end Viviane Asseyi came tantalisingly close to breaking the deadlock with a shot which strayed just wide (72'). Minutes later, Vanessa Gilles cleared off the line in dramatic fashion (75'). The tension showed no sign of easing up! Bordeaux had another chance to snatch the win, but Ouleymata Sarr's shot ended up in the side netting (83'). Lyon responded immediately, but Romane Bruneau pulled off the save of the match to deny Ana Hegerberg yet again! (84') That was the final chance of the game, as Bordeaux held the legendary Lyon to a draw and kept their superb season rolling on!
