Corps de texte
In a hard-fought encounter, the Girondins attempted to stamp their authority on the opening exchanges but were caught out by the visitors. When a rapid counte-attack met an abrupt end, the referee showed no hesitation in awarding Châteauroux a penalty. Fortunately for Bordeaux, keeper Darren Lima Semedo went the right way (0-0, 8'). The rest of the first half was scrappy, with chances in short supply. The break came early in the second half, whe, Hamidou Yameogo nudged Bordeaux in front with a precisely-placed shot 1-0, 46'. The Girondins were in control now, but all attempts to make that dominance count were thwarted: a first effort scraped off the wrong side of the post (64'), and then Sekou Mara looked to be through on goal but somehow the ball slipped away from hime (71').  Mara had another chance to seal the deal in injury time, but again narrowly missed (91'). Missed opportunities which would ultimately prove costly, when Châteauroux totally upturned the run of play to nick an equaliser in the dying seconds of stoppage time: 1-1, 93'. Châteauroux won the ensuing penalty shoot-out 4-3, progressing to the next round of the Coupe Gambardella. A slap in the face for the U19s, who will now be looking forward to concentrating on their league campaign.
