It's true what they say about cold Wednesday nights in Brest! Bordeaux felt the full force of the Breton winter this evening: wind, rain and defeat. A night to forgt in the BKT Coupe de la Ligue.   The Girondins dominated early on, with Toma Basic hitting the cross ball from distance (4'). But Brest gradually worked their way into the game, putting the Girondins on the back foot.   The game only really got going in the second half. In the 48th minute Aurélien Tchouaméni came tantalisingly close to scoring with a stunning strike that Brest keeper Léon struggled to push away. But in the 50th minute Grandsir put the hosts into the lead with a shot drilled right into the middle of Benoît Costil' goal (1-0).   Ten minutes later Charbonnier doubled Brest's lead, and from then on they looked comfortable. But the Girondins never gave up, and Samuel Kalu was as dangerous as ever down the left wing. One of his crosses almost ended in a Brest own goal, but the scuffed clearance flew just wide.   Final attempts from Youssef Aït-Bennasser and Samuel Kalu were not enough to change the course of this forgettable game: Bordeaux say goodbye to the league cup in Brest, after their first and only game in the competition this season.
