What a night in Bordeaux! [6-0]

What a game! What a night! The Girondins tore into Nîmes and never let go. The sense of mania was evident in the 11th minute, when the game had to be interrupted on account of fans encroaching on the pitch down by the corner flag. It took 25 minutes before play was resumed. The visitors had the first chance, with Ferhat failing to challenge Benoît Costil (14’). Ten minutes later, it was time for the Josh Maja show to begin! The VAR was clear: Maja was onside, the goal stood, Bordeaux were off the mark (1-0).   The No. 9 struck again before half time, doubling the lead with a superb strike. Bernardoni had no chance (37', 2-0). And there was more to come from Josh, who completed his hat trick just after the break (53', 3-0) ! The first time a Bordeaux player has scored three at home since Cheick Diabaté in April 2014.    But that wasn't all - far from it. Nicolas De Préville soon pounced to make it four, with the on fire Josh Maja providing the assist (58') ! There were still 32 minutes left to play, and Bordeaux were not planning on wasting that time! Otavio added insult to injury for Nîmes with two goals in the space of barely ten minutes (76', 87', 6-0).   The Girondins produced a truly historic performance this evening, tearing Nîmes apart to record their biggest league win since they destroyed Monaco on 17.02.2008. The perfect way to prepare for a huge away game against Marseille, next Sunday at 9pm.
