Corps de texte
The game started at breakneck speed, as you would expect from the current Champions League holders. Lyon pressed high and hard, forcing two early saves from Erin Nayler (2’ and 10’). The Girondines also endured an unplanned substitution in the 10th minute, with Inès Jaurena limping off to be replaced by Ghoutia Karchouni. Lyon kept on pushing forward, and eventually opened the scoring with a goal from Amandine Henry (20’). The Girondines did everything they could to respond in kind, with Khadija Shaw (23’) and Estelle Cascarino (24’) both coming close to equalising in the space of two minutes. It looked as if Pedro Martinez Losa's would be heading off for half-time with a one goal deficit... until Lyon smashed in two more in quick succession. Goals from Ada Hegerberg (44’) and Nikita Parris (45’) left Bordeaux with a mountain to climb at the break (3-0). The Girondines continued to struggle in the second period, as Lyon kept up the pressure. Viviane Asseyi and Khadija Shaw had their moments, but Lyon were ruthlessly tight at the back. With the end almost in sight, Shanice Van De Sanden added a fourth goal to seal the Girondines' fate (79’). After this stinging defeat at the hands of the reigning French and European champions, the girls will be eager to bounce back against Soyaux next Saturday.
