The club is pleased to announce a contract extension for Paul Bernardoni. The international keeper has signed up for two extra seasons, keeping him under contract until June 2023. At the same time, he has renewed his loan deal with Nîmes Olympique (L1). Paul started out with Troyes, making his Ligue 2 debut in 2014-2015 and winning promotion with ESTAC. He made his Ligue 1 debut that year, before joining  Bordeaux in January 2016. In 2016-2017 he did not quite break into the first team, but worked tirelessly in training. Looking to gain some more first team experience, he spent the 2017-2018 season with Clermont Foot in L2. He put in a full season with Clermont (38 matches) and was named Ligue 2 goalkeeper of the season. Last year saw Paul take another step up. On loan with Nîmes, he demonstrated his quality and talent in the top flight with another full season (38 appearances). A member of the France side which won the Euro U19 in 2016, Paul also played for France U21s in the European championships, losing out to eventual winners Spain in the semi-final. Paul and his team-mates are already qualified for the Olympics in 2020. He now has a total of 50 caps with the France youth sides. The club is delighted to have secured a new deal with Paul, and we wish him all the very best in his second season with the Crocodiles of Nîmes !
