FC Girondins de Bordeaux is very pleased to announce that two of our Academy's brightest talents have signed their first professional contracts: Dilane Bakwa (16) and Amadou Traoré (17) have both signed on for three seasons, until June 2022. Dilane Bakwa was born on 26th August 2002 in Créteil. Hailing from Val-de-Marne, he first caught our scouts' eye while playing for Saint-Maur Lusitanos. He joined us as an apprentice, and has risen through the ranks at the Academy. Dilane is a pacy left winger who loves to dribble and take players on. Amadou Traoré was born in Paris on 7th March 2002, where he started out with Paris FC. He moved to Bordeaux at U14 level, progressing rapidly with our youth sides. He is a rapid, technically-gifted forward and a natural goalscorer. These young hopefuls have much in common: promoted to the U19 team at the age of just 15, they took part in the UEFA Youth League as well as last season's impressive run in the Coupe Gambardella, when they were knocked out in the semi-finals by Saint-Etienne. They have also been called up to the national youth sides, with both Dilane and Amadou earning caps at U16 and U17 level. Dilane has scored 5 goals in 28 games for France, while Amadou has scored 4 in 29). Both featured in the recent Euro U17 tournament. The Bleuets may have lost to Italy in the semi-final (1-2), but in doing so they qualified for the next World Cup. After honing their talents at the Academy, Dilane and Amadou celebrate a major milestone in their professional careers with these new contracts. Next season they will train with the reserves, adapting to life at senior level, continuing to progress and learn with the Girondins. The club is delighted to have secured the signatures of these two bright young stars of French football for the coming years!
