Ghoutia Karchouni has signed a new deal! The Club has agreed terms with the player for the next two seasons, keeping the midfielder with us until at least June 2021. Ghoutia was born in Lyon, where she started her career. After three seasons with OL U19 and a Challenge National trophy won in 2013, she moved to Paris SG where she won the same trophy the following year whil also making her Division 1 debut. She also reached the final of the Coupe de France in 2014, losing to her old club Lyon (2-0). Meanwhile, Ghoutia earned her first international caps. After featuring in the Nordic Cup in 2011, Ghoutia won the U17 World Cup (2012) and the Euro U19 Championships (2013) with France. Ghoutia has 36 caps at youth level (2 goals) and one with France B. In 2016 she decided to take her career in a new direction: the USA. After six months with the Boston Breakers she opted for a move back to France to join the Girondins. Since January 2017 she has been a pillar of the Girondines squad: with 47 appearances in D1 she is Bordeaux's 4th most-experienced player. A leader on the field and off, Ghoutia is a hard-working and technically-gifted midfielder. We are thrilled to have secured Ghoutia's signature for the next two seasons, and we hope she will continue to shine as the team goes from strength to strength!
