Sophie Istillart extends her contract

After Julie Thibaud a few weeks back, another crucial player has extender her deal! Sophie Istillart, captain of the Girondines, has added two years to her contact. She will be with us until at least June 2021. I'm really happy that the club trusts me so much, and I know that my family are delighted too. Born on 23rd April 1996 in Bayonne, Sophie is a "veteran" of our ladies' team. Having played for Blanquefort since 2012, she was with the Girondines during the promotion-winning D2 season of 2015-2016. I've been at the Girondins for four years now. It's more than a club - it's my whole life. Sophie had no trouble at all adapting to life at the elite level, playing 62 out of a possible 66 matches over the past three seasons! The midfielder has always been a reliable performer, a fearsome tackler and an invaluable playmaker. A mixture of attitude and talent which has earned her several international call-ups: Sophie has won three caps with the France B side. I hope next season will be even better than this one, so we can finish in the top three! The club is thrilled to know that Sophie will be staying with us. This stalwart of the dressing room will continue to improve for years to come, as the Girondines continue to go from strength to strength!
