A good result in Monte Carlo! [1-1]

65th minute. Jimmy Briand sets the ball down on the penalty. Mr. Letexier, with a little help from the VAR, spotted a handball by Falcao inside the box. Jimmy steps up, Jimmy delivers: the Girondins are back in the game (1-1).     The Girondins had made a tentative start to this game, with Benoît Costil the stand-out performer in the first half. In just the 3rd minute the keeper was forced to make a diving save to keep out Golovin. Throughout this game Costil was up to his usual high standards, producing a series of saves at decisive moments to turn away shots from Silva (75'), Gelson (80') and Vinicius (84').     And yet, the first few minutes of the second half were tough for the Girondins. Monaco piled on the pressure, and in the 48th minute Falcao headed past Costil and into the net. Bordeaux refused to let their heads go down, and Briand's equaliser was much-deserved recognition for their efforts.       Vinicius had a goal disallowed late on, with Falcao in a clear offside position. The boys in blue return to Bordeaux with a well-earned point.
