The Girondins dominated the first half at the Matmut ATLANTIQUE, with Josh Maja (3’), Jaroslav Plasil (24’) and Yann Karamoh (30’) all seeing shots fly over the bar. Jaroslav Plasil got one on target too, but the Guingamp keeper pulled off an excellent dive to stop his low-flying effort (35’). Guingamp also created chances in this first half, with Benezet particularly active (28’, 33’). Just before half time Blas came within a whisker of giving the visitors the lead (44’). After the break Jocelyn Gourvennec's side missed another huge chance, when a botched clearance by Vukasin Jovanovic forced Benoît Costil to come off his line and tackle Nolan Roux. Roux just made it past Costil, but somehow managed to fire over the bar from close range! (52’) This was a game which could have gone either way, with both sides close to scoring on multiple occasions. Jules Koundé connected with a corner to rattle his header off the crossbar (74’), then fired just wide a few minutes later! (78’) In the dying seconds of the game François Kamano connected with a superb through ball from Toma Basic but could not make it past Caillard (90'). Despite numerous chances for both sides, the game remained scoreless. Bordeaux 0 - 0 Guingamp. This Sunday the Girondins are back on the road, heading to Beaujoire to face FC Nantes at 3pm.
