Bordeaux unlucky in Marseille [1-0]

The few minutes either side of the half-time break have proven to be Bordeaux's weak spot in recent weeks. Marseille scored the only goal of the game in the 42nd minute courtesy of Ocampos. Bordeaux never managed to fight their way back into the game.       This was always going to be a slightly strange evening, with the game played behind closed doors. Things got stranger still when Samuel Kalu was shown a red card in the 25th minute. Reduced to ten men, the Girondins were forced to rely on counter-attacks. Half-time substitute François Kamano created perhaps the best chance of the game, but his shot struck the crossbar (57’).     Back at the other end Benoît Costil produced a series of fine saves to keep Bordeaux in the game and prevent a much less flattering scoreline. In just the 7th minute he got the better of Ocampos in a thrilling duel. He was every bit as imperious against Sakai (30’), Germain (38’), Sanson (42’) and Lopez (77’). One last shot from Nicolas De Préville, easily caught Mandanda, was not enough to save Bordeaux. Marseille also had a goal disallowed, with good cause.
