Italian youth international joins Bordeaux

The Girondins de Bordeaux are very pleased to have reached an agreement with AC Milan for the transfer of Raoul Bellanova. This young Italian international, 18, is a promising right back. After successfully completint a medical, Raoul put pen to paper on a 4 1/2 year contract (until June 2023). He will now see out the rest of the season in Milan on loan. Raoul was born on 17th May 2000 in Rho, just outside Milan. A graduate of the Milan youth academy, he currently plays for Primavera, the club's reserve team. His time at the academy included working with Gennaro Gattuso, now coach of the first team. Raoul's potential is clear to see, and he has trained regularly with the first team squad this season. He has been an unused sub in three Serie A games. Raoul is also an experienced international, having featured for the Squadra Azzura at U15, U17, U19 and U20 levels. He has racked up a total of 53 caps, featuring twice in the U17 Euros (2016, 2017) and once in the U19 tournament (2018). Raoul stands 185cm tall, with an imposing physique. He is pacy and attack-minded, a bright young prospect for Italian football with the potential to improve further still. He will join Bordeaux this summer, and everybody at the club is looking forward to seeing him in action.
