Things got off to a relatively slow start at the Matmut ATLANTIQUE, with both sides tightly-drilled at the back. The first shot of the game came from Kwon, but drifted wide of the target (14'). A few minutes later Yann Karamoh tested Dijon keeper Allain (18'). Little by little, a few spaces began to open up. Benoît Costil pulled off a fine save to win a one-on-one with Tavares and prevent the visitors from taking the lead (28’). A few minutes later it took another great Costil save to deny Tavares again! (33’) Things then took a dramatic turn for Antoine Kombouaré's side, reduced to ten men when Amalfitano saw red for a dangerous challenge on Jimmy Briand (34’). The Girondins smelt blood, and were soon back on the attack. Samuel Kalu danced and weaved his way through the Dijon defence and into the box, but couldn't quite control his shot ! (49’)  In the second half it was ex-Girondin Cédric Yambéré who almost put the goal past his own keeper with a poorly-judged header. Allain produced a frantic dive to tip the ball away (66’). Deliverance finally came for the Girondins in the 77th courtesy of the big Dane up front! Samuel Kalu broke free down the left flank and hooked the ball in for Andreas Cornelius, who powered his shot into the back of the net! The Matmut ATLANTIQUE exploded! An excellent tactical decision from the Girondins, who had brought Cornelius on in the 63rd minute to replace François Kamano. With this 1-0 victory over Dijon, the Girondins sealed their 7th league win of the season and will now move up to 10th place in the table.
