Girondins through to the semi-finals (1-0) !

After over 160 minutes of football against Le Havre this week, the Girondins finally found an opening! In the 70th minute of their League Cup tie, Samuel Kalu nudged Bordeaux ahead with a superb goal. The Girondins were clearly the better side in the second half, and Yann Karamoh twice came close to widening the margin (84’ and 87’).   The first half had not been all plain sailing, despite clear goalscoring chances for Jules Koundé (20’), Youssouf Sabaly (24’) and Yann Karamoh (30’). The latter saw a free-kick boxed off the line by Balijon. Bordeaux dominated but could not find the goal they needed, a familiar story which tonight came with a happy ending.   This win puts us through to the semi-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue BKT along with Guingamp, Strasbourg and Monaco. The draw will be held this Thursday evening.
