Faced with opponents in desperate need of points, the Girondins got off to a strong start with three huge chances on goal in the first 20 minutes. François Kamano and Jimmy Briand (twice) came close to scoring. It was fourth time lucky, when Sergi Palencia centred for Samuel Kalu  who placed a perfect header just out of reach of Amiens keeper Régis Gurtner: 1-0 22'. The Girondins kept pushing forward and Jules Koundé almost made it two in quick succession (27'), but this time Gurtner had it covered. Gurtner was even better in the second half, squeezing out François Kamano (50') and saving another shot on target from Samuel Kalu (73'). Amiens made virtually no effort to attack until the last ten minutes, when Mathieu Bodmer finally put Benoît Costil to the test (82'). And yet the Girondins still managed to throw away their lead in the 87th minute, when a powerful drive from late sub Eddy Gnahoré got the better of Costil. Bordeaux 1-1 Amiens. A tough result to take for the Girondins, who deserved more but failed to make their dominance count. Bordeaux now go off for the festive break with a ten-match unbeaten run behind them, a promising omen for the rest of the season.
