In the 84th minute, the 40,842 fans packed into the Matmut Atlantique leapt to their feet and roared in unison - Andreas Cornelius had just placed his header past Alphonse Aréola, pulling the Girondins level with PSG once again.
84': WHAT A CROSS FROM @Poundje_Maxime AND WHAT A HEADER FROM ANDREAS CORNELIUS FOR THE EQUALISER! #FCGBPSG 2-2

With passion, commitment and impeccable team spirit, the Girondins went head-to-head with the league leaders for 90 minutes and emerged as heroes.
Trailing to a first-half strike from Neymar (34th minute), the Girondins came out firing after the break. Jimmy Briand and Yann Karamoh both had chances denied before the breakthrough came in the 53rd minute when Yann Karamoh's cross, cleverly feinted by Younousse Sankharé, allowed Jimmy Briand to smash in the leveller: 1-1.

As the game wore on, holes began to appear in both defences. As always PSG were a constant threat, and World Cup hero Mbappé soon produced a great strike to beat Benoît Costil and put the visitors back in front (66').
Eric Bédouet decided it was time for a change - and what a change it was. In the 84th minute Maxime Poundjé played a slick one-two with François Kamano before placing an absolutely perfect cross onto the head of Andreas Cornelius. Goal, 2-2 ! (84')
One point may not do much to alter the league table, but the symbolic value of this result to the Girondins is absolutely massive. Bordeaux will hope to take this positive energy into Wednesday's home game against Saint-Etienne.
