Never before have the Girondins felt the impact of video assisted refereeing so keenly. In the 25th minute, François Kamano looked to have put Bordeaux ahead with a header from a perfectly-placed Jaroslav Plasil free kick...until the VAR ruled that the Guinean had been offside.
What song sums up this game?

Same again in the second half: Runarsson punched away Younousse Sankharé's header, then Yann Karamoh popped up at the back post to finish the job. But Bordeaux's joy was to be short-lived: once again the VAR disallowed the goal for offside.
Late scares
Mehdi Abeid gave the Girondins an almighty scare towards the end of the match, narrowly missing the target on three occasions (81’, 83’ and 88’).
Un bon point malgré tout
All in all this was an evenly-balanced match, but the Girondins almost certainly deserved more for their efforts.
