Corps de texte
Coming off a frustrating loss to Zenit St Petersburg in the Europa League, the Girondins welcomed OCG Nice to the Matmut Atlantique with a clear objective: to get back to winning ways.   Eric Bedouet fielded a familiar side, and the Girondins' attacking stars created some decent early chances (Kamano 6’, Otavio 22’). But Bordeaux's attacking intentions were frequenly frustrated by Nice's rapid, forward-pressing style. Nil-nil at half-time (0-0)     Nice took the lead in the 54th minute, courtesy of a well-placed shot from Cyprien. Bordeaux fought back immediately, creating a flurry of chances including one which Lukas Lerager rattled off the crossbar. Unfortunately for the Girondins, Nice were solid and well-organised at the back.   As the game wore on Bordeaux were increasingly dominant, but still struggled to find a breach in Nice's defensive set-up. The Girondins kept on pushing and creating chances, but to no avail. In the dying seconds of the game Benitez saved Andreas Cornelius' header to secure victory for Nice. Despite spells of clear dominance and a committed performance from the boys, Bordeaux's eleventh outing of the Ligue 1 season ended in defeat. There'll be no time to dwell on this result though, as the Girondins' next game is a massive away trip to Lyon.
