Jimmy Briand joins the Girondins

Jimmy Briand was born in Vitry-sur-Seine on 2nd August 1985. He is an experienced centre forward with more than 400 professional appearances and over 100 goals to his name. Passing through the academy at Stade Rennais, he stayed at the club for 8 seasons and 211 appearances including his Europa League debut. He then moved to Olympique Lyonnais and discovered the Champions League, scoring goals against Dinamo Zagreb and Benfica. Jimmy has played a total of 46 matches in Europe, building up an invaluable experience of competing at the top level. After 4 years with Lyon, he decided to try his luck in the Bundesliga and moved to Hannover 96. After 1 season in Germany he returned to Ligue 1 with En Avant Guingamp. Jimmy Briand played three full seasons for the Bretons, scoring 30 goals and making 15 assists in 106 matches. During that time Jimmy also represented France at all levels, from U16 up to the A team, earning five full caps between 2008 and 2012.
