Statement

In response to some of the information and comments circulating in the press and online this week, the club would like to clarify a few points about the summer transfer window. As with most other clubs, transfer activity was more or less put on hold during the World Cup, a situation exacerbated by the club's specific circumstances. It is entirely normal for the choice of players to be the subject of lively but professional debate between the club's sporting directors, head coach and other decision-makers. The arguments described in the press this week have been exaggerated and inaccurately reported. In these circumstances, the club would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm its total support for the manager, and to reassure our fans that all of the professionals involved in the recruitment process are working together to make this transfer window a success, and always with the best interests of the Girondins at heart.
