Yassine Benrahou is ready to go pro! The young attacking midfielder has just put pen to paper on a three-season deal which will keep him at the club until at least June 2021. Born 24th January 1999 in Blanc-Mesnil (93), Yassine started out playing in Aulnay before switching to Villepinte, Bondy and later Paris SG and Créteil. He moved to Bordeaux in 2014, at the age of 15. He was part of the Girondins U19 side that were crowned national champions in 2017, and played a major role in winning promotion for the reserves last season. At home in central midfield or on the wing, Yassine is a pacy, technically-gifted player who loves taking opponents on. He has also proved himself to be a formidable taker of set pieces, posing a frequent threat from free kicks and corners. He becomes the 8th player from the Girondins Academy to turn professional in 2018, following in the footsteps of Jules Koundé, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Michaël Nilor, Ibrahim Diarra, Over Mandanda and Lucas Dumai. The Girondins de Bordeaux are delighted to welcome yet another young player from the Academy into the professional set-up. We look forward to watching Yassine work hard and continue his progress, as he seizes the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities at the top level.
