Malcom leaves the Girondins de Bordeaux

The Brazilian ace's destination has finally been confirmed: La LIGA, where he will be joining FC Barcelona. A product of the Corinthians youth academy, Malcom joined the Girondins de Bordeaux in January 2016. He made his Ligue 1 debut on 7th February 2016 against Saint-Etienne, but it wasn't until 30th April of that year that Malcom nabbed his first assist in a 4-2 victory over Troyes. The following week he scored his first Ligue 1 goal against Lorient (3-0). The following season got off to a bright start when Malcom scored the Girondins' winning goal in a 3-2 victory over Saint-Etienne in the first game of the season. He made a total of 45 appearances in all competitions that season, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists. In 2017-2018, he confirmed his status as one of the brightest young talents in the French league with 12 goals and 8 assists in 38 appearances. He also won the UNFP Goal of the Season Award for his superb strike against Dijon. Malcom has made a total of 96 appearances for the Girondins, racking up 23 goals and 16 assists.  Everyone here at the Girondins de Bordeaux would like to thank Malcom for his hard work and commitment, and wish him all the best for this new adventure.
