Nicolas de Tavernost: "It's out of our hands"

"It's out of our hands now, we need Lyon to win. We've been good in the last two games, now we need to win in Metz. It's no more than we deserve. The really frustrating thing is the mid-season slump we had, when you can see what this team is capable of. Unfortunately, that bad spell in December and January cost us points. This is the kind of performance we were expecting from this Bordeaux team." "For the time being, we haven't received the assurances we would need to consider selling the club. The discussions are ongoing. The deadline is 15th June, either it all works out or it doesn't. Whatever happens, we're already actively preparing for next season. Anything is possible, but as things currently stand the conditions haven't been met for us to sell the club. If we don't sell within the next few weeks, we'll remain 100% owners. We're ready, and we're already preparing for next season, but we're still in negotiations. I've set 15th June as the deadline. We want guarantees about the planned investments for the future. Without going into too much detail, we want to be sure that the potential investors are prepared to guarantee a positive future for the club in the long term. We haven't yet received all the assurances we need, and until we do we won't be selling the club."   "I'll be back in Bordeaux next week for meetings. We're expecting to receive some very concrete proposals for the club's future. But life goes on, and we're still taking full responsibility for the club. We'll review the season and our all-round sporting performance next week, looking ahead to next season. I'm confident that we'll have a very strong team next year. If it's in the club's interest to sell Malcolm then we'll sell him, otherwise he'll be staying put. He's under contract. We'll sell him if the right offer comes in, but we're not going to sell him for the sake of it. We're determined to get it right. There's every chance that tonight wasn't Malcom's last game in Bordeaux."
