The Girondins are delighted to announce that two young players from the club's youth academy have agreed terms for their first professional contracts. Michaël Nilor and Ibrahim Diarra have signed up for three seasons, ensuring that they will be with the club until June 2021. Michaël Nilor was born on 16th April 1998 in Sarcelles, and plays as a striker. After starting out with Mantes-la-Jolie et Garges-lès-Gonesse, he spent one season in Le Mans before joining Bordeaux in June 2013. Michaël is a strong, physical target man (6'1" and 80kg), good in the air and with the ball at his feet. Perhaps his greatest strength is his finishing, which has made him the top scorer for the reserves this season (9 goals). To watch Nilor's exclusive interview with girondins.com, click here. Ibrahim Diarra was born on 19th May 1998 in Aubervilliers. He joined Bordeaux in 2015 from his childhood club JA Drancy, having also spent a brief stint with Stade Rennais. Comfortable playing either on the wing or in a more central attacking role, Ibrahim is capable of charging down the flanks at devastating pace. At 5'8" and 57 kg, Ibrahim is a skillful dribbler who loves taking the ball around players. Ibrahim also spoke to girondins.com recently. These new contracts for Michaël and Ibrahim are further evidence of the excellent work being done in our Academy. Five Academy players have turned professional this year, with these two latest signings following in the footsteps of Zaydou Youssouf, Jules Koundé and Aurélien Tchouaméni. Proof that the club is determined to make the most of the superb quality of the Academy. We wish Michaël and Ibrahim all the best with their professional careers, and in the meantime we hope to see them feature prominently in the final games of the season as the Reserves seek promotion to National 2.
