Rodez came into this game one place off the bottom of the table, and the Girondines were determined to secure three points to keep pace with their rivals at the top end of D1, record a first victory at the Matmut Atlantique and banish the memories of last year's defeat in the same fixture. The Girondines dominated from the outset, and made that pressure count in the 13th minute: connecting with a free kick taken by Delphine Chatelin, Sophie Istillart slammed Bordeaux into the lead (1-0).  Jérôme Dauba's side kept pushing forward looking for a second goal, with Chatelin (19’), Solène Barbance (24’) and Nadjma Ali Nadjim (31’) all coming close. Rodez goalkeeper Deborah Garcia was on excellent form this afternoon, pulling off a double save to deny both Rose Lavaud and Solène Barbance (33’) and pulling off another excellent stop to keep out Carol Rodrigues (40’).  Somehow, completely against the run of play, Rodez managed to equalise before half time when Julie Peruzzetto's free kick took a deflection which wrong-footed Alizée Nadal (43’).  Returning from the break, the Girondines seemed to be still reeling from this surprise blow. Less dominant and less confident on the ball, it took them ten minutes or so to regain their composure and create a series of chances on foal for Carol Rodrigues (57’, 65’, 76’) and Ghoutia Karchouni (57’).  Rodez had their share of attacking action too, with Lemaitre testing Alizée Nadal (61’). Two minutes later, Delphine Chatelin launched a rapid counter-attack which almost ended in a goal. The Girondines totally dominated the last twenty minutes, but were still unable to break the deadlock. Gathrat, Cambot and Bornes all came on as late subs, but to no avail. Bordeaux were held to their first draw of the season by Rodez (1-1). The Girondines remain in 6th place with 10 points, just behind Paris FC but still two points ahead of Lille, who drew with Marseille earlier in the day.  MATCH STATS Bordeaux : Nadal - Lardez, Thibaut, Fahey, Chatelin - Karchouni (Gathrat, 66’), Istillart, Barbance (Cambot, 64’) - Lavaud, Rodrigues, Ali Nadjim (Bornes, 87’).
