Bordeaux started off brightly but caught out by the very first Guingamp attack. In just the 3rd minute, Jérémy Toulalan hauled down Thuram inside the box. Penalty for the visitors. Fortunately for the Girondins, Benoît Costil produced a masterful save to stop Jimmy Briand's spot kick. Bordeaux responded with a rapid counter-attack, François Kamano picking out Nicolas De Préville in the box only for the latter to send his shot wide (5’). The game was wide open in the first fifteen minutes, with each side seizing on the other's mistakes to create chances. Slowly but steadily, Jocelyn Gourvennec's side began to the upper hand. Nicolas De Préville soon popped up again, controlling Théo Pellenard's cross and spinning to deliver a shot which scraped just centimetres wide of Johnsson's goal (18’). The Girondins were dominating possession by now, attempting to crack open the visitors' defence with a series of crosses and long shots.  François Kamano tried his luck from 25 metres (26’), and a few moments later he was headed goalwards again when Kerbat tripped him inside the penalty area. Referee Benoît Bastien had no need to hesitate: another penalty. Nicolas De Préville stepped up to do the honours, but Johnsson dived the right way and parried his shot. The ball rebounded nicely for François Kamano, who stuck it straight into the back of the net! 1-0 Bordeaux after 31 minutes. Bordeaux had the upper hand, and kept pushing forward as they seeked to extend their lead. Guingamp's defence was suffering, but they held firm. The game became scrappy as half-time approached, with both sides guilty of pointless fouls. At the break the score remained Bordeaux 1 - 0 Guingamp. The Girondins were caught napping immediately after the break: Salibur charged straight into the Bordeaux box and equalised (1-1, 46’). The home fans were stunned, but didn't have to wait long for the fight-back. Younousse Sankharé had a decent chance in the 53rd minute, narrowly missing the target. Bordeaux continued to dominate possession, but Guingamp looked as dangerous as ever on the counter. The visitors' best chances came from set pieces, but Benoît Costil was on solid form (62’). Jocelyn Gourvennec decided it was time for an attacking shake-up, bringing on Alexandre Mendy for Lukas Lerager (63’). That decision almost paid off in the 70th minute, when Malcom collided with Johnsson and Alexandre Mendy's follow-up shot was narrowly cleared off the line. A massive double chance for Bordeaux! The pressure soon paid off, and Alexandre Mendy connected with a great ball from Malcolm to fire the Girondins ahead in the 76th minute.  Bordeaux were totally dominant in the closing stages, and kept on pushing for more. Younousse Sankharé shrugged off several defenders and unleashed a low-flying shot which slipped just wide of the left post (83’).  Jonathan Cafú added Bordeaux's third in the 92nd minute, his first goal with the club. An emphatic 3-1 victory for Bordeaux, and three more points in the bank!
