girondins.com: Hello Younousse! Bordeaux won the Garonne derby last week, was that a special match for you? Younousse Sankharé: It was my first derby with Bordeaux, and we all knew that away trips to Toulouse had been tricky in the past few years. But this time we won, which was great. girondins.com: The Girondins are currently fourth in Ligue 1, how do you feel about the season so far? Younousse Sankharé: It's going pretty well! Even though we have a few regrets from some of the matches. Overall it's been a good start to the season. Now we just need to keep that momentum going. Competition is healthy. girondins.com: This Saturday at the Matmut ATLANTIQUE the Girondins take on Guingamp, where you spent four years. Is this a big game for you? Younousse Sankharé: Yes of course! I'll be playing against some old team-mates, guys I spent three years with. So obviously it's a special occasion. But as soon as we get on the pitch and that whistle goes, old friendships get put to one side.  girondins.com: Jocelyn Gourvennec has been using you as part of a three-pronged midfield, alongside Otavio et Lukas Lerager. How is that working out for you? Younousse Sankharé: It's a very even midfield, we complement each other nicely. We've had a bit of time to bed in now, and we're getting better from game to game. And of course we also have Valentin Vada and Jaroslav Plasil. The competition is healthy. When you've got players of that level, the results should follow.         It felt good to be back. girondins.com: Bordeaux have a big away trip to Paris coming up. PSG and the Girondins are the only two teams who haven't lost yet, who is going to keep that record intact? Younousse Sankharé: For now the priority is to beat Guingamp. That'll give us the confidence we need to travel to Paris. We'll think about it next week, for the time being we're totally focused on Guingamp. girondins.com: You were called up to the Senegal side for the World Cup qualifiers, how did it feel to be back with the Lions? Younousse Sankharé: I've played for the national team before, and it felt good to be back. It went well, even if we could have played better at home. It was nice to go back, but I've already put it behind me. I want to be 100% focused on Bordeaux and keep working hard. girondins.com: Youssouf Sabaly has indicated that he would be willing to play for Senegal, have you discussed that with him? Younousse Sankharé: I'm happy for him, I think getting some international experience would be good for him. Senegal could help him to progress, I really hope it works out for him.   Thanks Younousse!
