Jocelyn Gourvennec:
"This was a really useful friendly for us, because the level of physical commitment was great. We saw a lot of long balls, but also a lot of pressing and chasing down which is encouraging. The boys were well coordinated in defence, working as a unit. We had some good spells in possession, and when you look at the state of the pitch I think we did well. We came within millimetres of scoring. Benoît made two or three good saves from long shots. The only thing we really need to improve on is our finishing. The last twenty minutes were lively, spaces were starting to open up. That's where we should have made the difference."
Nicolas De Préville:
On his Girondins debut:
"It wasn't hard to fit in, Bordeaux are a team who like to have possession of the ball. There were some good attacking movements. Obviously it'll take me a little while to slot into the system, but I think we got off to a decent start."
Disappointed not to score?
"Yes of course … I knew there was a chance the ball would bounce badly, looking at the state of the pitch. So I waited until the last moment to hit the ball, it took a bobble and it ended up hitting the bar. It's good to start with a game like this, to get me up to speed. I'm enjoying getting to know the team and how it works."
