Matheus Pereira joins Bordeaux

Matheus Pereira has joined the Girondins de Bordeaux from Juventus, on a season-long loan with an option to buy. Matheus Pereira is a 19-year old attacking midfielder, born on 25th February 1998 in São Paolo. He was trained at Corinthians, making his professional debut in 2015 with victory over Cruzeiro. Corinthians were crowned Champions of Brazil that year, with a team which also included a certain Malcom. Matheus Pereira's talent was plain to see, and the youngster was soon on his way to Italy. Recruited in a joint arrangement by Empoli and Juventus, he started out with the former club and made his Serie A debut in a win over Pescara. He switched to Juventus in February 2017, playing 18 games with their youth team and providing six assists. A multi-talented winger, Matheus Pereira is still very young and has an enormous potential to progress and improve. In Bordeaux, he will continue to develop and grow as a player with the support of his fellow countrymen in the Girondins dressing room, not least Malcom.
