The club's directors recently sat down with Younès Kaabouni to discuss his professional future. In order to help him find a new club and kick-start his career, the club and Younès have agreed to put a premature end to his contract, which was due to run until June 2018. A graduate of the Girondins Academy, Younès came to prominence with the youth side. His career took off in 2013, when at the age of 18 he was part of the team that won the Coupe Gambardella (the national U19 trophy). Younès' strong performances earned him his first call-up to the France national squad, playing at U19 and U20 levels between 2013 and 2015. He won a total of 12 caps and won the Toulon Tournament in 2015, scoring twice. Younès moved up to Bordeaux's first-team squad in 2013-2014, making his professional debut against Sochaux. He made four appearances that season, and twelve the following year. A loan spell with Red Star (L2) followed in 2015-2016, but his season was marred by injury. Younès played a full season with the reserves last year, and is now looking for a new sporting challenge. We wish him every possible success with the rest of his footballing career.
