Thomas Touré has officially joined Angers SCO, leaving our club for a new challenge.  Thomas arrived in Bordeaux in 2010, joining from AS Cannes to join our Academy at the age of 17 and rapidly progressing through the ranks.  Thomas spent three seasons with the reserves from 2011 to 2014, improving his game and demonstrating his potential to the coaches. Bordeaux fans got a first glimpse of that talent in 2013, when Touré scored an incredible goal against Viry-Châtillon with the reserves. Connecting with a cross from Yoann Barbet, Thomas Touré unleashed an incredible volley which was watched thousands of time online.  On 4th May 2014, Thomas made his first team debut against Valenciennes. After two Ligue 1 appearances in 2013-2014, he made the step up to the first team on a permanent basis the following year. At the age of 20, Thomas made his first L1 start under Willy Sagnol, on 25th September 2014 against Saint-Etienne. Thomas played 27 times in all competitions in 2014-2015, scoring twice in the league and once in the Coupe de France.  Willy Sagnol was a great fan of Thomas' multi-faceted attacking style, particularly his dribbles and piercing runs. In 2015-2016 he scored 3 goals in 30 appearances. The following season was a little more complicated for Thomas, despite a good start (six games in L1) and the backing of new coach Jocelyn Gourvennec. An injury sustained on 17th October 2016 would sideline the striker for the rest of the 2016-2017 campaign.  The Ivory Coast international (one cap in 2016) made his return to Ligue 1 against... Angers, on 6th August 2017. In leaving the Girondins, Thomas is moving on to a new challenge in his footballing career. We wish him all the best for the future. Thank you and good luck Thomas!
