The Girondins de Bordeaux can now confirm the permanent transfer of Nicolas Pallois to FC Nantes. Nicolas has already completed his medical and signed a contract with the Loire-Atlantique club. Joining Bordeaux from Niort in 2014, Nicolas Pallois has had a somewhat unusual career path. After being released from SM Caen's youth academy he first came to attention with minnows Quevilly during their incredible Coupe de France run in 2009-2010. The Normandy-based side eventually went out to PSG in the semi-finals. Pallois' solid performances in the cup earned him his first professional contract with Valenciennes. This was his first taste of Ligue 1 (11 matches). He was then sent out on loan to Laval in Ligue 2, putting in a good season before moving to Niort. He played two full seasons for Niort (71 matches and 4 goals) before being snapped up by the Girondins. Despite his lack of top-flight experience, he rapidly became a crucial component of the Bordeaux defence (37 matches). In his second season with the club he discovered the UEFA Europa League, but a serious injury in Rennes (combined with a long suspension) kept him out of action from November until April. He bounced back stronger than ever last season, playing another full season in blue and white. Nicolas has decided to take his career in a new direction, joining FC Nantes after three seasons in Bordeaux. He leaves the club having made a total of 101 appearances in all competitions (scoring 4 goals in the process). We would like to thank Nicolas for all his hard work and professionalism during his three years here, and wish him all the best for the next step in his career.
