From the Blues to the Blue and Whites!

Following the arrivals of Julie Thibaud and Julianne Gathrat, Niamh Fahey is the latest summer signing for the Girondines. Niamh is a central defender who can also play in midfield. The Irish international started her career with Salthill Devon before moving to London to join Arsenal Ladies in 2008. She played 73 matches and scored twice for the Gunners. In 2014, Niamh Fahey moved across town to Arsenal's rivals Chelsea Ladies FC, losing out to her old club in the FA Cup final at the end of the season. The 2016/2017 season proved to be more successful, with the Blues winning the league title. Niamh's excellent performances at club level soon brought her to the attention of Ireland's national coaches, and she has won a total of 52 caps with the national side (including 25 at U17 and U19 level). Her experience and talent make her a vital addition to our team. We are very happy to welcome Niamh to Bordeaux, and look forward to seeing her in action!
