The Girondins de Bordeaux can now officially confirm the transfer of Alexandre Mendy to Stade Malherbe de Caen.  Born in Toulon, Alexandre Mendy joined the Girondins from Guingamp in time for the 2017/2018 season, signing a four-year contract. He made a total of 18 appearances for the Girondins that season, scoring 4 goals. At the end of the season he returned to his old club on loan. Back in the Côtes d’Armor, he played 23 games and scored 5 goals. Last season saw Alexandre Mendy head out on loan once again, this time for a season-long spell with Ligue 1 rivals Stade Brestois 29. While in Finistère he made 24 appearances and scored 3 goals, as well as providing one assist. Alexandre has now signed for Ligue 2 club Stade Malherbe de Caen on a permanent basis. The Normandy outfit have started strongly this season, and are currently just three points off the top spot. The club would like to thank Alexandre for his commitment and hard work, and wish him all the best for this new experience. We will be watching with interest as he pursues this new chapter in his professional career.
