Rémi Oudin scored his first goal of the season. The midfielder won a free-kick in a wide position in the 11th minute, stepping up to unleash a stinging left-footed shot which the Dijon keeper was powerless to stop. This was Oudin’s second goal since joining the Girondins, and the 15th of his Ligue 1 career.

Samuel Kalu got his second goal of the season against Dijon, with Nicolas De Préville providing the assist. Picking up the ball on the left wing, Kalu cut inside and threw two dummies before finally slamming the ball into the net. Samuel’s career total now stands at 6 goals in Ligue 1.

Toma Basic also scored for the second time this season. In the dying seconds of the game, young striker Dilane Bakwa burst forward and fired off a shot which Dijon keeper Allagbé just about managed to box away. Basic followed-up with a first-touch effort to score Bordeaux’s third of the afternoon. It was also his 5th career goal in Ligue 1.

Finally, the nets had something to do at the Matmut ATLANTIQUE ! This was the first home game of the season which did not end in a scoreless draw. Better still, the Girondins scored three goals and conceded none!

The Girondins finally got back to winning ways at home. This victory comes after a run of seven homes games without a win (five draws, two defeats). The last home win came way back in December 2019 against Nîmes (6-0). Let’s hope that Bordeaux can keep the ball rolling in their next home game, which will be against… Nîmes (25 October).
