France Women are now officially qualified for Euro 2022, after their victory over Austria on Friday evening. Corinne Diacre's side beat Austria in Guingamp (3-0) to top Group G. Wendie Renard scored first (11') and Marie-Antoinette Katoto struck twice (27' and 73'). France now have 19 points, three points more than Austria who have no games left in which to close the gap. Les Bleues will play their final qualification match this Tuesday evening against Kazakhstan (Vannes, 21h00). Charlotte Bilbault and Eve Périsset both started the match, with Charlotte wearing the captain's armband when Amandine Henry was subbed off. This was Charlotte's 30th senior cap, while Eve has now featured for the national side 20 times. Estelle Cascarino and Julie Thibaud were in the squad but did not make it onto the pitch. Eve Périsset spoke to a journalist from the FFF website after the game:

"We're delighted. We're going to savour this victory then refocus on the next game. We need to recover properly and finish on a high note on Tuesday. We scored pretty early on, and that helped a lot. The second goal in the first half was liberating for us. Then we managed to get a third, again from a set piece. We scored three goals tonight and I think we played very well, although there are always things you can improve on. It was a good match, all in all."

Netherlands Women, who have already qualified for Euro 2022, hosted the United States in a friendly in Breda. This was an opportunity for revenge after last year's World Cup final, but once again the Americans got the upper hand. The USA were 2-0 winners, and dominated throughout. Lavelle scored first, (44') before Mewis doubled the lead (70'). Katja Snoeijs did not start, but came on as a late sub (88') to earn her 5th senior cap. The Netherlands will face Kosovo this Tuesday in their final Euro 2022 qualifier.
