The Girondins return from the Parc des Princes with a well-earned point! What a match ! What a battle! Pembélé (10’, o.g.) and Yacine Adli (60’) got the goals for Bordeaux. Neymar (27’ pen) and Kean (28’) scored for the hosts. Benoît Costil was on magisterial form, as were the rest of the team. A Girondins performance which was a real pleasure to behold ! No, it's not the same thing week after week! Yes, the Girondins have got their mojo back! Inspired by Benoît Costil, whose performance was near-perfect, our boys did us proud this evening at the Parc des Princes. When Neymar (27’ pen, 1-1) and Kean (28’, 2-1) fired PSG into the lead in the space of two first-half minutes, many fans were already fearing the worst. But the Girondins had other plans !

Bordeaux took an early lead courtesy of Pembélé, who scored an own goal in the 10th minute under pressure from Josh Maja (0-1). Back at the other end, Benoît Costil was imperial tonight! His unflinching composure in a decisive one-on-one with MBappé was perhaps the moment that best summed up this Girondins performance (56’). On the hour mark, Yacine Adli, freshly subbed on just two minutes earlier, smashed in Bordeaux's equaliser (60’, 2-2). Teed up by Hatem Ben Arfa, the midfielder slotted home a wonderfully-placed shot just inside Sergio Rico's left post. What a goal! Just desserts for Bordeaux's efforts.

The Girondins actually came close to running away with it in the final minutes, with both Nicolas De Préville (85’) and Hatem Ben Arfa (89’) coming within centimetres of snatching a winner. But, alas, it was not to be. As the footballing world paid tribute to the late, great Diego Maradona, the Girondins put in a combative performance inspired by an impeccable collective spirit.
