Another clean sheet for Benoît Costil

The Girondins beat Brest 1-0 this weekend, as Benoît Costil kept a clean sheet for the eighth time in thirteen games! Costil is currently the keeper with the most clean sheets in any of Europe's five major leagues.

Hatem Ben Arfa scored his second goal of the season for the Girondins, with a low-flying left-footed shot which got the better of Gautier Larsonneur in the 84th minute and sealed victory for Bordeaux.

Hatem Ben Arfa's goal did not come out of thin air: it was Yacine Adli who provided the assist! After scoring one himself last week (with an assist from... Hatem Ben Arfa), this week our No. 19 provided his second assist of the season.

Josh Maja started up front for his 40th Ligue 1 appearance for Bordeaux, having joined the club in January 2019.

Last but not least, the Girondins were a model of good behaviour this evening: referee Mr. Schneider did not feel the need to hand out any cards.
