Bordeaux breeze past Nice [0-3] !

This away trip to Nice had all the makings of a tricky afternoon. But the players stepped up to the occasion in style, in a game which had it all. Commitment! Goals! A 3-0 away win for the Girondins! Ui-Jo Hwang (50'), Paul Baysse (75') and Toma Basic (87') got the goals in a resounding victory for Bordeaux.  In the end it was the second half which decided this game. After dominating the first period, albeit without finding the net, the Girondins took the match by the scruff of the neck after the break. Five minutes into the second half, Ui-Jo Hwang left Nice keeper Benitez stranded when he connected with Yacine Adli's well-placed pass (50', 0-1). The Korean star had been a major threat throughout the first half, and this goal was well-deserved.

Meanwhile in midfield, Otavio was pulling the strings and making sure the hosts were under constant pressure. Nice eventually let their guard slip, and Paul Baysse pounced on the opportunity. In the 75th minute he latched onto a corner struck by Rémi Oudin, smashing home Bordeaux's second (0-2) ! The Girondins looked destined for victory now, but they did not let their attention slip for a second.

With three minutes left on the clock, Amadou Traoré teed up Toma Basic for the fatal blow (87', 0-3) ! Bordeaux thoroughly dominated Nice this evening, securing three vital points in the most decisive of manners. The energy and commitment on display were thrilling, as the Girondins completed consecutive victories for the first time in two years. Well done boys!
