The Girondins are on a roll! The victory over Angers this afternoon was Bordeaux's third win on the bounce. Ui-Jo Hwang got both of the goals in the space of 3 first-half minutes (7' and 11'), with the Korean ace effectively sealing victory by the tenth minute. Fulgini pulled one back for the visitors before half-time (38'). It feels good to be on a winning streak! With team mate Otavio struck down by injury earlier in the week, the whole squad  were determined to do him proud! It showed on the pitch, in another determined and decisive Bordeaux performance!

After two early warnings (3' and 7'), Ui-Jo Hwang fired past Angers keeper Bernardoni (and ex-Girondin) from close range (7'). This early goal put the wind in Bordeaux's sails and barely three minutes later the South Korean striker made it two-nil with another well-placed strike (11'). The Girondins were in total control of this game already.

Shortly before the break, Fulgini reduced the gap with a neat free kick which left Benoît Costil little chance (2-1, 38'). The keeper did not let his guard down though, and minutes later he produced a double save to prevent Bahoken from levelling the scores (44'). Angers were finally looking like a real threat, but Bordeaux held on to the lead as half-time beckoned.

They also enjoyed a little bit of luck early in the second half, when Angers rattled the woodwork (48'). Angers dominated possession for long spells of the second period, but the Girondins' defence held firm and Benoît Costil was once again unbeatable between the sticks (87'). Another victory for Bordeaux, who have enjoyed a very strong January.
