Nîmes have lost their last two encounters with the Girondins. Bordeaux beat the Crocodiles last season (2-0), and thoroughly thrashed them the year before that (6-0). Both of those victories came on home turf. But let's not get carried away: in Ligue 1, Bordeaux have only visited Nîmes once since 2018-2019, and Nîmes won that match (2-1).

A dreadful run…

Titre 3
Corps de texte
Nîmes have lost their last eight home games in Ligue 1, their worst ever run in the top flight. In fact, Nîmes are on the brink of making French footballing history for all the wrong reasons. One more defeat and the club will hold the worst record for consecutive defeats in the history of the league. They are currently joint record-holders with Metz and Toulouse.

Nevertheless, Nîmes have won two of their past five league games. That's as many victories as they managed in the first half of the season (along with 3 draws and 13 defeats). Last week's victory in Dijon (0-2) was particularly important, with Pascal Plancque's men keeping a clean sheet for the first time in 13 games.

Getting our away form back

Bordeaux have been reliably solid away from home this season, only twice failing to score, in Monaco (4-0) and Metz (0-0). But our boys have endured back-to-back defeats at the hands of Lyon (2-1) and Brest (2-1). Surely now is the time to get that good away record back on track?
