Stats after Sunday's defeat in Montpellier

Hwang Ui-Jo is on fire! After scoring twice last week against Dijon, the South Korean international was on target again this weekend. In the 28th minute of the game, he pulled off a perfectly-judged control and strike to give Bordeaux the lead. This was his 9th league goal of the season, and his 15th since joining the Girondins.

Ui-Jo's goal was certainly a stunner, but Paul Baysse's assist wasn't bad either. The central defender floated in a pin-point precise cross for the striker, notching up his second assist of the season so far. The first came in very similar circumstances: a long ball for Ui-Jo against Saint-Etienne (1-2).

Two Girondins hit milestones in their league careers this weekend: Jean-Michaël Seri made his 110th appearance in Ligue 1, having played 103 times for Nice and 7 in the navy blue. Nicolas De Préville has now made no fewer than 240 appearances in the French top flight. He has played 103 matches apiece for Bordeaux and Reims, meaning the next game will finally make Bordeaux the club for whom Nico has played the most matches. He also made 34 appearances during his time with Lille.

The Girondins suffered their 14th defeat of the season in Montpellier, leaving them in 13th place with 36 points.

Jean-Michaël Seri picked up a yellow card against Montpellier, leaving him at risk of a suspension. If he receives just one more booking between now and the game against Lens (our penultimate outing of the season) he will be suspended for one match. Loris Benito, meanwhile, is already suspended. When he received a red card in Nîmes, he was handed a suspension of one match + one match on probation. His late yellow card against Montpellier means that probation is over and Loris will be suspended for the next game - against Strasbourg.
