A new initiative in support of Restos du Cœur

As part of our societal responsibility efforts, the Club recently handed out Girondins water bottles to all of the young players at a local football club. This initiative actually has a dual objective: to cut down on plastic waste while also raising funds and awareness for food bank charity Restos du Cœur. The Club's bottles are made of bio-sourced polyethylene derived from sugar canes, a renewable raw material helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. These eco-friendly bottles are also made in Europe.  

The idea is that young players will no longer need to drink out of disposable plastic bottles. We also decided to offer the bottles for sale, keeping the price low at €4 - all proceeds raised from water bottle sales have been donated to Restos du Cœur, a long-standing partner charity of the Girondins.

Gironde football federation president Muriel Quilichini also paid a visit to the club, and the kids were delighted to be able to donate the equivalent of 1189 meals.
