Inès Jaurena signs contract extension

The Girondins de Bordeaux are delighted to announce that Inès Jaurena has signed a new deal. The midfielder has pledged her future to the club for the next two seasons, until June 2023

Inès is one of the most experienced players in the Girondines squad. Born on14 May 1991 in Paris, she started her career with VGA Saint-Maur, playing her first season at the top level in 2006-2007, at the tender age of 15. After three years and 51 appearances for the first team, she left France to study in the USA, playing for Florida State for the next three seasons. Back in France, Inès made her D1 debut with Issy, joining half-way through the season and making 9 appearances. She then moved to Juvisy, soon to become Paris FC. She spent six busy years in the capital, featuring in 117 matches in all competitions (and scoring 7 goals).

Inès joined Bordeaux in time for the 2019-2020 season. She has played 30 times for the club in D1, scoring twice already this season, including against Fleury last weekend. She is also a seasoned international, having won 28 caps at the different youth levels (U19, U20, U23). She has picked up a slew of medals with Les Bleues, including winning the Euro U19 championships in 2010. Inès has also earned four caps with France's senior side, and featured in their last two outings.

Inès is a classic midfield playmaker, a driven tackler with the capacity to break quickly and orchestrate attacks. She is also a formidable character, a tireless battler who gives her all for the team. The Club is very happy to be able to count on Inès for two more seasons. Her skills, mental strength and temperament will be vital assets to the squad going forward. Congratulations Inès on your new contract!
