Tough times in Lorient [4-1]

The Girondins suffered a heavy defeat in Lorient this afternoon (4-1). Wissa (18') and Moffi (20', 43' and 80') got the goals for the Bretons. Late substitution Issouf Sissokho got a late consolation for Bordeaux (83'). A bitterly disappointing result against a close rival in the race for L1 survival.   Welcome though it was, Issouf Sissokho's goal came too late to change the result. The Girondins were well beaten in Lorient this afternoon. Issouf's 83rd-minute goal allowed Bordeaux to save face, perhaps, but there was precious little else to salvage from this afternoon's performance. With four matches left to play, the Girondins now sit in 16th place, one point above 17th (Lorient) and five points above Nantes and Nîmes in the relegation zone.

Wissa gave Lorient the lead in the 18th minute, and barely two minutes later Moffi doubled the gap (2-0, 20'). Moffi pounced again just before half-time (3-0, 43'), and Bordeaux's troubles showed no sign of easing in the second half. Moffi 's hat trick put the game definitively out of our reach (4-0, 80'). A tough blow for the Girondins, who must now prepare for another vital game against Rennes, next Sunday at the Matmut ATLANTIQUE.
