U19s beat Saint-Etienne, but U17s lose out

The U19 notched up a second consecutive victory this weekend. Matthieu Chalmé's side beat Saint-Etienne 3-1 at the Stade André Pestourie in Brive. Lenny Pirringuel added two more goals to his burgeoning tally, while Bordeaux's third came from the penalty spot courtesy of Luc Essiena. This was the U19s' fifth friendly since Covid halted the league in January: results have been positive, with three wins, one draw and one defeat.

But earlier on that day Sylvain Blaquart's U17s had a less positive encounter with Les Verts, losing 2 - 0. Nonetheless, the young Girondins have been on a reasonably good form this year, with four wins and three defeats.
